The VSL Training / FE Team comprises of Sadaf Alam (or Saf as we call her!), Ryan Vidor (thats me - the blogger!) and Nathan Lewis who joined our team back in 2009!

Security NVQ Assessor required to cover East Midlands region

NVQ Security Assessors & Verifiers for Derbyshire/Notts area – (Barlborough, Chesterfield)

Our client is a well esablished Training Provider who have centres throughout South Yorkshire & The East Midlands. Due to continued expansion they now want to take on additional Security NVQ Assessors & Verifiers for Derbyshire/Notts area – being based out of Barlborough (near Chesterfield).

Overall Objective:
- Assist learners to determine their personal learning goals
- Monitor learner progress through initial and continuous assessment

Main Responsibilities:
- Developing and agreeing realistic and appropriate learning plans
- Planning the assessment process with candidates & other people involved, including establishing employer participation.
- Giving candidates feedback & support on assessment decisions.
- Contributing to the internal quality assurance process.
- Assessment and action planning of NVQs.
- Review of candidate progress including reinforcement of health and safety, equal opportunities, career aims and progression.
- Liaison with Internal Verifiers and External Verifiers to ensure candidate portfolios satisfy awarding body criteria
- Completion of relevant approved paperwork, computerised records (e-portfolio) and monthly tracking documents as instructed
- Problem solving related to candidates.
- Identification of additional learning needs and communication of findings to the Security Team Leader.
- Facilitate relevant underpinning knowledge to fill candidate skills gaps as appropriate.
- Maintain learner’s interest in and engagement with the learning process

Essential Requirements:
- D32/33 or A1 Units qualified
- Recent assessing experience
- Occupationally Competent
- Current Driving Licence
- Willing to work within 35 mile radius from Balborough
- Customer Orientated
- Committed to quality
- Well organised, able to work to targets and deadlines
- Able to work alone using initiative

Job Details: x ICT Trainers / IT Tutors required in the East Midlands region

Our client is a well established Training Provider who has centres throughout South Yorkshire & the East Midlands. Due to continued expansion they now want to take two on additional IT / ICT Trainers to work in centres throughout the various East Midlands Region.

Key activities:
1. To provide professional, high quality training to a wide range of clients.
2. To follow a professional approach to course delivery applying innovative teaching, support and learning methodology using a blended learning approach.
3. Support learners in using an online learning environment.
4. To attend punctually all planned sessions of the courses designated in your timetable.
5. Achieve organisational performance targets for attendance, retention and achievement.
6. To ensure that subject knowledge is current and expertise reflects best practice in the field.
7. To develop and update training material for training programs.
8. To accurately record training information on the appropriate system(s).
9. To deal professionally with requests and enquiries from current and potential clients
10. To demonstrate the company’s values in your own behaviour.
11. To keep up to date with changes to programs including education law and guidance pertaining particularly to vocational programs.
12. To attend staff training and external training sessions, as agreed with your line manager.
13. To assist the Quality and Contracts Managers in developing and improving the service.
14. To assist the Quality and Contracts Managers, in developing, collating and analysing information obtained from our clients and writing reports.
15. In consultation with the Quality and Contracts Managers, to develop and provide training for employees and other key stakeholders.
16. A commitment to travel throughout the East Midlands to undertake this role.

Person Specification:
Qualifications
1. Educated to HNC/HND or NVQ Level 3 or 4 in a relevant subject area and/or hold a relevant professional qualification for example A1 Assessors Award (essential).
2. Evidence of relevant continuous professional development (desirable).

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
1. At least 2 years experience of training delivery (essential).
2. Proven training delivery skills incorporating instruction, assessment, monitoring, feedback and evaluation (essential).
3. Knowledge of the education and training industry (desirable).
4. A high standard of written, verbal and presentation skills (essential).
5. The ability to communicate information in a clear, concise and meaningful way for different audiences (essential).
6. Experience of effective teamwork and good interpersonal skills (essential).
7. Adaptability, willingness to learn new skills, work pro-actively, and take responsibility for personal development (essential).
8. The ability to cope with pressure and work to tight deadlines (essential).
9. A thorough knowledge (Level 3) of MS Office Applications from Office 2000 – 2007: Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, InfoPath and Visio (essential).
10. Awareness of the need for confidentiality, equality and diversity and data protection (essential).

Our client is a reputable multi-million pound organisation who are responsible for providing vocational skills & employability programs across all areas of the UK. As a government backed organisation, our client are going from strength to strength by successfully delivering a variety of Skills for Life, Key Skills & NVQ ‘s.

We are currently looking for an experienced Health & Social Care Assessor to join their established team

Responsibilities

· Delivering Training & Assessment

· Ensure that apprentice eligibility is suitable for training provision

· Identifying with each apprentice and employer the appropriate programme

· Agree apprentice training requirements with apprentice and employer

· Monitoring, Reviewing & Assessing apprentice’s progress to National quality standards

· Ensure that flexible delivery of learning programmed

· Ensure that each apprentice is receiving support from the Skills Team

Requirements/Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years occupational competency within the last five years;
Qualified to D32/33 or A1 Assessors qualifications
Achieved minimum grade C GCSE (or equivalent) in mathematics and English or Key Skills at Level 3 within the last ten years, or Achieve Level 2 or 3 BKSB testing results.
Key Skills delivery and Technical Certificate
Basic office IT knowledge

Job Title: Peripatetic Skills Level 3 Skills for Life Tutor Required - EAST MIDLANDS

Hours of Work: 40 hours
Responsible to: learndirect Contract Manager
Responsible for: Effective programme delivery and support, meeting of set achievement and retention targets. You will also be responsible for clean audit and contract compliancy.

Overall Objective:

Teaching a wide range of learners, using diverse methods of teaching and learning. Requirement to be constantly assessing learners’ needs and planning to meet those needs. To be able to reflect upon own practice and to employ appropriate methods. Reflective practice and scholarship should also underpin the wider professional role in managing the learning process, developing curriculum and guiding and supporting the learning in partnership with others in the organisation. Ensuring that audit and quality compliance is met and working to a ‘right first time’ ethos at all times.
