Job Title: Business Development Manager, Ripley, Derbyshire
Company
Our client are a growing membership based Training Consortium who represent over 60 Training Providers (members) within Derbyshire, the East Midlands region and nationally.
They provide a support and information network to its members and secure funded training contracts from the LSC (Train to Gain, Skills for Life, Apprenticeships and more) which they subcontract to their members who then deliver these in accordance with contract criteria.
Their members range from small independent training companies to national training providers, colleges and educational suppliers.
Job Purpose:
•Identify new business opportunities and secure additional revenue to meet Business Plan and individual targets
•Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the business as a member of the senior management team.
Key Responsibilities
•Develop new business relationships, generate and negotiate new deliverable income to an agreed annual target.
•Establish, build and maintain strong positive, professional relationships at all decisions levels with potential partners (including Skills Funding Agency, National Apprenticeship Service, YPLA, DWP, JCP, Local Authorities, Sector Skills Councils and schools)
•Support the development and implementation of employer and provider engagement strategy with relevant key partners within the skills and education sector.
•Indentify partner working opportunities
•Continually seek and respond tendering opportunities in-line with overall company strategy; manage the bid writing process in-line within bidding criteria and deadlines.
•Develop a strong relationship with ALP in order that members are kept up-to-date with national policy developments
•Attend monthly management meetings to discuss development issues and agreed appropriate action plans
Person Specification
•Experienced and comfortable at engaging at senior levels of management
•A clear understanding of the current key priorities within the skills and employability sector
•Strong client management skills
•Good Presentation Skills
Experience
•Proven track record of winning new deliverable business and increasing revenue
•Working at a management level and making decisions in-line with working at a management level
•An understanding of the education and skills agenda nationally, regionally and locally
Benefits
Salary: £30-32k depending upon experience and skills
Travel Payments : 0.40p per mile
Pension: Stakeholder Pension available
