Teaching & Learning Quality Specialist Required in Chesterfield, Derbyshire

Our client is a well established Training company with centres based throughout South Yorkshire and the East Midlands. Due to continued growth, they now have an opportunity for a talented individual to join their team in the position of Teaching & Learning Quality Specialist.

Purpose of the Role
This position involves hands on work with staff and learners at all levels coordinating and development curriculum and all that entails. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, the post holder will play and active role in the development of coherent delivery programmes across the business for vocational provision with embedded Skills for Life. This is a high impact role which will also support the implementation of development strategies and will require well developed and effective interpersonal skills to lead, support and advise a wide range stakeholders including employers, learners and staff.

Responsibilities

§ The furthering of the organisations programmes, across all areas of the business to increase participation, progression and success for all.
§ Cultivating and promoting opportunities for their learners regarding their programmes, working with all areas of the business.
§ Ensuring that the organsiations programme curriculums are developed with quality, effectiveness and success in mind.
§ Ensuring that the organsiations programmes are flexible and personalised to meet the broad needs and interests of our learners, employers we work with and the community.
§ Increasing internal and external partnership working with employers and other education establishments to ensure there are clear learner progression opportunities.
§ Ensuring that the quality of the learner experience is consistently high across all programme areas to be evidence through outstanding learner satisfaction and success rates.
§ Being proactive and innovative in relation to new and future developments as directed by local and national policy.
§ To drive forward a professional team of delivery staff to approach to course delivery applying innovative teaching, support and learning methodology using a blended learning approach.
§ To ensure that systems and processes are in place to effectively monitor and record student progress through appropriate initial and continued assessment.
§ To ensure that staff, clients and learners are provided with excellent resources to enable high quality learning.
§ To ensure that systems and processes are in place that meet both internal and external requirements of funding bodies, Ofsted and external audit.
§ To develop and implement an effective mechanism for OTL, that support the business targets for Grade 1 Ofsted results, and provides a firm basis for Staff CPD and Performance Management.
§ To develop innovative delivery strategies that offer employers flexibility and responsiveness.
§ To liaise with awarding bodies and ensure that relevant registration and entry procedures are followed for all learners studying towards an external accredited award.
§ To support subject tutors in the embedding Skills for Life across the
§ Curriculum.
§ To manage internal verification/moderation for externally accredited programmes.
§ To lead the SAR process and be able to act as nominee at Ofsted inspections.
§ To ensure that learner and staff evaluation are used to continuously improve learning and innovation.
§ To ensure that all centres are “inspection ready”.
§ To ensure that staff subject knowledge is current and expertise reflects best practice in the field.
§ To lead on the Institute for Learning standards and criteria for delivery staff.
§ To be aware of the current requirements of the appropriate professional bodies and sector skills councils and their impact on the delivery and assessment of courses.
§ To comply with all decisions, policies and procedures of the organsiation..

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Educational Requirements
Essential:
· English A-Level or equivalent
· Mathematics A-Level or equivalent
· Cert Ed or PGEC or DTLLS
· A degree in a relevant subject area or other professional qualification in a relevant subject
· IT Level 3 or equivalent
Desirable:
· Adult Numeracy / Literacy Subject Specialist Level 4
· Management Level 3 – 5
· Evidence of ongoing specialist subject updating
· Demonstrable experience in developing and implementing effective systems and processes to improve quality and effectiveness
· Good track record of improvement of retention and achievement
· Experience in budget and resource management
