New Vacancy for Jan 2011 - Employability Skills Tutor in Swadlincote



JOB TITLE: Employability Skills Tutor

LOCATION: Swadlincote, Derbyshire
HOURS: 21 per week
SALARY: £16,000 (PRO RATA)

Our client is a highly prestigious Training Provider Organisation who operate in the East Midlands Region (Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire), and have numerous Training Centres within these regions.
This organisation delivers Training contracts for the YPLA, The Skills Funding Agency (SFA) and The Department for Work and pensions for learners of all ages.

They presently have a vacancy for an experienced Employability Skills Tutor to join their team on a part time basis (21 hours per week) in their Swadlincote training centre. The key areas of responsibility are engaging and teaching young people aged 16 – 18 who are accessing the Foundation Learning programme, employability skills that progress them into sustainable work opportunities via the apprenticeship route.

1)MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
- To deliver a varied programme of Employability Skills to Foundation learners.(Through the City and Guilds accreditation process of Employability Skills)

2)POSITION IN ORGANISATION:
- Directly responsible to the Centre Manager

3) SCOPE OF JOB
To deliver a structured programme of Employability Skills to foundation learners who are accessing the Work Based Learning route.
To ensure all learners attend the employability skills sessions for a minimum of 4 or 6 hours per week as per contractual requirements.

4) DIMENSIONS & LIMITS OF AUTHORITY
- To organise and plan own time and work requirements
- To be responsible for own programme delivery

5) QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum level 3 Teaching qualification - essential
- Basic or key skills minimum level 2 - desirable
- Basic Counselling Certificate - desirable
- Enhanced CRB

6) EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 2 years experience of working with unemployed adults or youth and to have an understanding of their issues to include a minimum of 2 years experience of teaching in small groups

V Selective Recruitment are currently recruiting qualified Freelance Assessors and Verifiers for our client - A well established college in Birmingham. The role will involve working in the Birmingham / West Midlands region.

We are seeking both Assessors and Verifiers to work on part-time / freelance basis to support their NVQ delivery in the following areas:

Technical Training Manager Derby

ur client is an international market leading company who provide services to the telecommunications sector.

They currently have an exciting new vacancy for a Technical Training Manager to join their organisation.

Role Objectives:

- The main role objective for this position is to provide all the technical product training to internal staff and co-ordinate with the corporate training department in people development.
- To create training modules that can be delivered externally by competent personnel.
- To enable vital training on new and current product so as best customer service can be delivered through excellent knowledge of product.

Role & Responsibilities

- Train – Help the Service Delivery team to take ownership of new product by offering training in all aspects of purpose: Commercial need, Technical knowhow and Operational usage both for internal purposes and customer facing.
- To accompany the services team with onsite training of customers where necessary. (some overseas travel may be required)
- Liaising with managers across the departments, helping them understand how they can develop their team through excellent product knowledge.
- Support – Refresh training and supply updated product support to the Services Delivery team.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

- Have a recognised qualification in Training.
- At least 2 years experience in people development / training.
- Have a detailed understanding of training methods and tools.
- Experience in staff management

Preferred Skills

- Ability to learn technical subjects
- Excellent communication skills: Great people person - Be able to interact with all aspects of personnel within the business dealing with internal operational staff to customer facing and external customers. To be able to operate at different levels across the business and work with different levels of management.
- Proven experience of people training and development in a technical background is required.
- Proven ability to write training courses that deliver best understanding of product in a clear and efficient manner.
- Good understanding of Quality Assurance and its purpose within a company.

Additional Notes

- The role would suit a very proactive individual who has great attention to detail. The information will have to be sourced and will not be necessarily delivered so someone who actively shows good information gathering skills would be needed.
- There will be a lot of documentation support needed for this role so evidence of good housekeeping skills would be vital.

Salary is negotable depeding upon experience - £20k to £26k per annum

Project Officer Vacancy in Training Sector, Chestyerfield, Derbyshire


Project Officer, Training Sector

This is a Fixed Term position on an initial 3 Month Contract, however a permanent role could develop depending on performance.

Location: Chesterfield, Derbyshire

Salary: £14,000 – £16,999 (Negotiable)

Job Description
- Working for a successful training organisation, you will be working with and supporting the Senior Management Team (SMT) and CEO to ensure work is successfully delivered against Strategic Aims, Objectives and Individual Projects of the organisation’s Vision.
- The post holder will be a key member of the newly formed team responsible for a number of challenging and focused projects to review our established quality assurance framework to develop into a robust total quality management system. Implementation of this framework, which is to be directed at setting standards, training, development and reporting lines would enable employees to make significant contribution to work effectiveness with quality at the heart of all operations. A key role is also to carry out the creating, testing, validity and appropriateness of the standard operating procedures that will fall out of the projects and review.
- Reporting to Project Managers, the project officer will contribute to the setting up of projects and the preparation of project plans, and will assist in the delivery of the intended quality assurance framework, and all associated processes and systems. In additional the project officer will lead on the delivery of particular work streams, according to her/his background and experience.

Responsibilities:
- To work proactively within the team and staff to ensure successful delivery of the Operational Plan and Strategic Objectives of Skills.
- Lead on the delivery of projects linked to the Operational Plan
- Contributing to and writing reports, briefing papers, research and development to inform relevant parties and/or projects.

- Maintain a helpdesk, answering and fielding queries, liaising with subject experts and ensuring responses are dealt with appropriately.
- Represent Skills at steering groups, meetings, workshops, conferences and other events where appropriate.
- Create, record, evidence, verify and authenticate papers including publicity documents, workshop content and website information.

Work based on:
Supporting managers to deliver their work plans in order to ensure that the Operational Plan and Strategic Objectives of Skills and the monitoring and reporting project activity against performance indicators, including project budgets and staff time allocations.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Essential
- Educated to graduate level (or an equivalent level of experience)
- Experience of project management processes and delivery
- Budget planning and financial management experience
- Good oral and written communication skills, including writing for a variety of audiences
- Knowledge of methods of information gathering
- Understanding of the nature of accountability, targets, outputs and outcomes
- Completer / finisher abilities

Desirable
- Experience and knowledge of PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments)
- Experience of projects where the focus is on business justification
- Knowledge of defining organisation structure for the project and team members
- Experience in dividing projects into manageable and controllable stages

Skills
- Very good interpersonal and team skills with the ability to deal with a wide range of people including senior staff

Our client is a well established Training company with centres based throughout South Yorkshire and the East Midlands. Due to continued growth, they now have an opportunity for a talented individual to join their team in the position of Teaching & Learning Quality Specialist.

Purpose of the Role
This position involves hands on work with staff and learners at all levels coordinating and development curriculum and all that entails. NVQ Security Assessors & Verifiers for Derbyshire/Notts area – (Barlborough, Chesterfield)

Our client is a well esablished Training Provider who have centres throughout South Yorkshire & The East Midlands. Due to continued expansion they now want to take on additional Security NVQ Assessors & Verifiers for Derbyshire/Notts area – being based out of Barlborough (near Chesterfield).

Overall Objective:
- Assist learners to determine their personal learning goals
- Monitor learner progress through initial and continuous assessment

Main Responsibilities:
- Developing and agreeing realistic and appropriate learning plans
- Planning the assessment process with candidates & other people involved, including establishing employer participation.
- Giving candidates feedback & support on assessment decisions.
- Contributing to the internal quality assurance process.
- Assessment and action planning of NVQs.
- Review of candidate progress including reinforcement of health and safety, equal opportunities, career aims and progression.
- Liaison with Internal Verifiers and External Verifiers to ensure candidate portfolios satisfy awarding body criteria
